Alcohol And Narcotic Addiction Treatment Centers

Alcohol and narcotic addiction treatment centers have a lot in common. Programs for drug treatment, alcohol treatment and narcotics treatment often overlap. That’s why groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) have very similar goals although the addiction of choice may be different.

Alcoholics Anonymous is for alcohol treatment. Many people just call it AA. AA calls itself a “fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism”. Regardless of your addiction, the only requirement for someone to join AA is a desire to stop drinking which can take a variety of forms of alcohol treatment such as the twelve step program and meetings. There are no dues or fees for Alcoholics Anonymous membership.

Narcotics Anonymous is for narcotics or drug treatment. Many people just call it NA. NA calls itself “a fellowship of men and women who are learning to live without drugs.” This includes narcotics treatment, but often other drug users find help amount the Narcotics Anonymous membership as well. There are also no fees for NA membership. Both AA and NA alcohol and narcotic addiction centers hold regular meetings, and members will have a mentor sponsor who helps them on their path to sobriety or drug free living. There are centers and meetings held around the world so that no matter where you are you can find a meeting to help you through a rough patch.
